What is JPAC’s Education and Outreach?
JPAC’s Education and Outreach is a new initiative by JPAC’s staff and board to further foster a creative community in the Janesville area through youth and adult performing arts education opportunities and as well as events that involve and engage the community. These opportunities and events include:
Creative Kids Classes – Performing arts classes, including an innovative summer camp, for youth ages 2 and up. These are individual courses that run in eight-week sessions during the school year and an intensive three-week session during summer. Classes culminate with an informal “informance” at the end of each course that is free to friends and family.
JPAC Youth Choir -JPAC’s Youth Choir is open to children ages 9 to 14 who love to sing and perform. This group has a dual vision ¬— an upbeat junior show choir that also sings and performs traditional youth choral numbers. This is an ongoing group running in twelve-week sessions with a performance at the end of each session.
Created by Kids Production – A theatrical production collaboratively written, designed, and performed by Rock County youth — the highlight of our Creative Kids summer camp.
Master Class Series – Master classes instructed by regional performing arts professionals for adults and teens who want to sharpen their talents or learn a new skill.
Encore Series for Seniors – A free series of performing arts classes for seniors in partnership with the Janesville Senior Center. Taught at the senior center with a culminating performance at JPAC.
PTA Reflections Partnership – A partnership with the School District of Janesville JCPTA celebrating the work done by young artists during the school year ending with a performance and art show in the spring of each school year.
Family Fest – An annual celebration of art, community, and families in Rock County with family-friendly activities, performances, community art, and free prizes!
Arts for Everyone Scholarships – A need-based scholarship program providing tuition assistance for JPAC’s Creative Kids classes and summer camp.
School-Time Inspire Series – A series of school-day performances for teachers to bring their students enjoy a performing-arts field trip experience.
Culver’s Family Series – An affordable series of family-friendly weekend performances made possible by a special grant from Janesville area Culvers.
